Meet the Co-Founders

Neil Handwerker

Neil Handwerker is a co-founder of ex judicata.
Immediately prior he spent 18 years as a legal recruiter placing partners in law firms. Both with his own firm, N Legal Search, and at The Lucas Group (a division of Korn Ferry) where he was Vice President & General Manager of the Legal Division responsible for 50 legal recruiters around the world and the Managing Partner of the New York City office.
Earlier in his career, Neil was the CEO of Fulcrum Information Services. A company co-founded with his partner in ex judicata, Kimberly Fine. The company was a venture-backed provider of management education to law firms, law departments and C level executives. Neil and Kim grew the company over 5 years followed by a successful exit via sale to a public company.
Earlier, he was Senior Vice President of Conferences and Publishing at Executive Enterprises. He began his career as a law firm associate.
Neil has an undergraduate degree with honors from Union College and a JD with honors from Fordham Law School. Neil has been a frequent lecturer on client development for lawyers including several presentations at the annual ABA national convention and has written for publications including: The American Lawyer, The National Law Journal, Spy, National Lampoon and Cosmopolitan.

Kimberly Fine

Kim is a co-founder and Chief Connectivity Officer of ex judicata.
ex judicata is Act Two for Kim and Neil. Earlier in their careers they co-founded Fulcrum Information Services. Over a five-year period, Fulcrum’s team had grown to 62 professionals creating over 300 executive conferences. The company was sold to Sylvan Learning.
Kim is a legal industry veteran. She served as Managing Director at ALM, formerly American Lawyer Media. While at ALM, Kim worked closely with the Editors for The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel magazine, IP Law & Business, and Law Firm Inc., creating events to help grow their brands and materially enhance their editorial content.
In addition, Kim developed ALM’s Law Firm Management Series in partnership with Harvard Business School Press to educate the country’s top law firms. Finally, Kim served as the Director of Educational Content for LegalTech, the world’s leading tradeshow for legal technology.
Leveraging her legal relationships, she served as a contract Project Manager at Marsh FINPRO, where she was responsible for managing marketing and business development opportunities relating to the creation and launch of their Securities Litigation D&O Panel Counsel.
Kim has also worked extensively with Boards of Directors and Aspiring Directors through her commitments to Women Corporate Directors and BoardNext.
